We give this award every year at our local Boys & Girls Club Celebration of Our Youth (COY) ceremony in Red Lodge, Montana. And every year, we’re blown away by the youth in our community who have such big hearts.

Coral Eder is this year’s recipient for the Youth Advocate for Healthy Relationships COY Award. Coral is a kind, welcoming presence at Roosevelt Middle School. She exemplifies the qualities of kindness that DSVS and Power Up, Speak Out! strive to promote: kindness, empathy, and compassion.

Tonya Henry, Red Lodge Roosevelt Middle School counselor says, “Coral, in her quiet way, consistently treats her peers and staff with respect.  She gives her undivided attention when being spoken to, shows a genuine interest in what they have to say, and replies kindly and thoughtfully. She is a fine role model for her peers and I have no doubt that her aptitude for maintaining and displaying healthy relationships, letting others be themselves, and having fun with others will continue indefinitely.”

We couldn’t think of a more deserving person for this year’s award! Coral brings sunshine to her peers and the staff of Roosevelt Middle School. Congratulations, Coral!
