Power Up, Speak Out! is a research informed program. Pre-test and post-test surveys were conducted by a professional research consulting group (MEM Consultants) in 2012, and again in-house by DSVS staff in 2014. Both the 2012 and the 2014 studies suggest that there is a correlation between using Power Up, Speak Out! and changing the attitudes and knowledge that can cause bullying, sexual harassment, teen dating violence, and sexual assault. We’re encouraged by these findings, and we are working to find the funding to further evaluate our program. Our long-term goal is to become an experimentally proven, evidence-based program.
